Luisa Caparoula, DOFamily Medicine
After completing her medical education and graduating with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Caparoula returned to Columbus, OH. She completed a General Surgery internship at Mt. Carmel Health System, but quickly realized her passion was in primary and preventative care. She then went on to complete her residency in Family Medicine at Doctor’s Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident of Family Medicine.
Dr. Caparoula has participated in several research studies, held several leadership roles within hospitals where she served, and has received several awards for her academic achievement and service. An active member of the medical community, Dr. Caparoula is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. In 2017 she was the recipient of the Doctor’s Hospital’s prestigious Ruth E. Purdy Award, an award given to a female physician at Doctor’s Hospital who embodies excellence in both the medical profession and in public service.
In her free time, Dr. Caparoula enjoys an active lifestyle. She practices yoga and gymnastics, is a runner and swimmer and enjoys travelling, reading, and photography. She is excited about joining Primary Health Group – Ironbridge and serving in her new community. Dr. Caparoula has a special interest in Women’s Health and minor office procedures addressing joint pains, contraception, and skin disorders. She looks forward to meeting you and your families and is currently welcoming new patients.
